Il progetto del bike hotel nasce in un’ottica di flessibilità. Il reticolo strutturale è definito dalla ripetizione di un modulo di travi e pilastri in acciaio corten, i pannelli di tamponamento assumono, invece, diverse funzionalità e separano l’interno dall’esterno. Questa estrema modularità garantisce al progetto la possibilità di evoluzione nel tempo; modificarlo, ridurlo o ampliarlo a seconda delle esigenze è possibile anche grazie all’uso dell’imbullonatura e dei giunti a secco. Lo schema distributivo è costituito da un sistema di rampe e pianerottoli, il centro del progetto sono due corti rettangolari che definiscono il perimetro dell’intervento. Il risultato è la creazione un percorso ciclabile che si apre verso il panorama di Torino, dando la possibilità ai ciclisti in transito di comprendere le complesse relazioni tra città e parco.

The project of this bike hotel is based on flexibility. The structural grid is defined by a repeated module of beams and pillars in corten steel, infill panels are multifunctional and separate internal and external parts. This extreme modularity grants a stunning evolution possibility to the project during its lifetime; modifying, reducing or expanding it following exigences it is possible thanks to the bolting system and ground joints. The distribution scheme is based on a system of ramps and landings, the centre of the building is enclosed by two rectangular courts which defines the project area. The result is the creation of a cycle path opened to the landscape of Turin, giving the possibility to cyclists to understand the relationship between the park and the city itself.
